Who is the nation's patron saint, if any?

Most of the island isn't Cruisian, but those people that do follow Cruis are very strongly attached to someone called Saint Alandro (San Alandro to them). Alandro was a Lendian philosopher and traveller who came to Couatl
during the early period of Lendian contact (and was actually responsible for the first Lendian-Couatlan dictionary, among other things). He didn't really think of himself as a missionary, but he was a Cruisian, and considered the Couatlan religions to be barbaric, and so he tried to encourage an end to certain practices (human sacrifice, for example). A Couatlan priest objected to this, and he was murdered. Couatl's small but growing Cruisian population proclaimed him a martyr, and he began the journey to sainthood. His legend has actually been exaggerated a great deal - the way the Church of San Alandro tells it, Alandro was some sort of holy crusader who came to Couatl to destroy Couatlan religion and establish a kingdom where Cruis's law would reign supreme (the Church sees itself as continuing his work).
